Frost Bowl

Postby GCasey603 on Tue Feb 12, 2008 3:45 am

Just figured I'd give some readers an update on our latest tournament.

Frost Bowl was held in Greensburg, PA at All-American Paintball Park. This event turned out 20+ teams and was played at what could be considered one of the best parks in the country. The team took the long haul in one of the Northeastern red vans. 10 hours later, and many wrong directions, we arrived at AAPP to walk the fields the night before. After getting a solid 30 minutes of walking before getting kicked out, we went back to the hotel and woke up the next morning eager to play. After a semi-disappointing previous tourney (3-5-1, no playoffs), the team was looking to step it up for this tournament. The A-team finished the prelims 8-0 with the 2nd seed overall, thanks to some shenanigans by Vesta and Greg. The B-team also performed quite well, finishing 5-3 and just out of the playoffs. Long break going into the semis really killed most of the momentum that was gained from prelims. Thus, the A-team finished 1-2 in the semifinals and 7th overall. Although disappointed of not bringing home 1st, the team still can think of it as an accomplishment and a good step in the right direction going into the final event of the season and into Nationals. The next event in the northeast AA conference is scheduled for March 30th, so look for Northeastern A and B to be atop the leaderboards and hopefully bring home a trophy.

How did you guys like the field? I saw an overhead of the tournament field and it looked a little weird with those sets of 3 small blockers.

Also, any pictures?

The field played great. The fingers allowed for plenty of lane blocking and allowed us to break for S2 and D2. We were the only team breaking for S2 and D2 off the break which therefore gave us a huge advantage basically all day long. The field was surprisingly versatile and fun to play.

No pictures as of yet. I'm trying to see if anyone got any video or pictures, but I'm coming up empty.

Those are just there for lane blockers, not really meant to be played, although I did happen to get stuck in them a couple times, which really sucked.

We forgot to bring a camera, so any pictures would be from someone else.

We only had 10 players there so taking pictures would be near impossible regardless.

I've carried a camera in my pocket and snapped some pictures from the deadbox during a tournament. The angle sucks but it's possible to catch something.

If any turn up let it would be cool to see them.

I hear that 8 out of 11 games, there weren't many in the deadbox to have that type of opportunity. :D

I'm pretty sure I shot out out more people in the first 3 games personally, then we lost in all 8 games combined.
